Today, I want to encourage you to take some time to identify your accomplishments from 2021. It’s great to look ahead to the future. But there is also so much gratification that comes with taking a few minutes to pause and reflect on your accomplishments, and celebrate them.
Your Accomplishments
Let’s think through the layers of wins you have had this year. You have wins regardless of the financial or goals met.
“There are always wins layered inside every single year.”
I’m going to lead you through an exercise to help you see the value that you’ve brought to yourself, your clients, and the world in the last 12 months.
There are two different ways to go about this:
Chronological exercise
Start in January and move through every single month of the year. Look at your financial statements, and see what your cash flow looked like. What resulted in you reaching or exceeding your goals in that month? Look at what your goals were for each month. If you did meet them, what allowed you to meet them? Identify what helped you meet or exceed your goal for each month.
Is there a particular client that had some sticking power over the course of the 12 months? Did you get a bonus, and what was it awarded for? Ask deep questions, and figure out what allowed you to get to that place.
“I want you to see all of the efforts and energy that go into meeting and exceeding your financial goals.”
Next, open up your calendar. Go month through month and look for different meetings, discovery calls, coffee chats that resulted in work. You will be surprised about all the wins that you will notice.
Examine the Seven Pillars
Move through the seven pillars in your business and ask yourself what you are most proud of. This leverages the seven strategic objectives inside your business.
Financial stability: Look at your financial statements. What generated better months? Acknowledge your contribution to your family, and celebrate what you were able to provide to them. Celebrate any volume of income!
Did you increase your fees this year? Did you establish a profit share system with your client? Did you legally protect your business?
Marketing and visibility: How did you find clients this year? Identify what practices allowed you to go into client relationships. What are you most proud of regarding marketing and visibility? Did you get on a podcast, grow your email list, or work on your social media? Whatever worked, keep doing it!
Operational efficiencies: What did you do to make your business run more smoothly this year? Did you create SOPs, add software, or create automations and processes? What did you do to make life easier? Don’t forget to document these processes.
Product innovation: How did you evolve your offer this year. Look at your offer, and note how you innovated it. How did it change this year?
“I hope you ended this year by doing something that stretched you a little further.”
Client satisfaction: What did you help your clients achieve this year? It’s likely because of you that they stayed on track and met their goals. Did you get testimonials? Use them!
Growth and Development: How did you uplevel your skill set this year? Did you work with a new coach? How did it bring you success this year?
Team Growth: Did you bring additional people onto your team, and how did they serve you? In what ways were they beneficial?
Miscellaneous: How many hours did you work each week? Did you take vacation time? How did work feel? Are you following your values? Were you able to make your goal salary?
Take time to celebrate yourself and all you have accomplished this year!
