We are wrapping up 2023 by looking at my business and sharing my review. I do this behind the scenes episode each year because I really value transparency with those who support me!
Looking Back on 2023
At the end of 2022, my word of the year was “Agile Innovation,” and I want to take some time to share how important this practice is for me.
Having a “word of the year” is much like my mission, vision, and values, because it helps me stay focused and determine when I should/shouldn’t do things, and really helps me to get the quality of my ideas up.
At the end of 2022 I knew I was going to need to stretch myself in the areas of agility as well as innovation. These words were front and center for me and my team and we came back to them several times throughout the year.
I chose these words because I needed to be challenged. I could tell we were going to be in a different economic environment and I wanted the business to thrive.
I knew that we were going to have to innovate and bring new things to market and I knew that moving swiftly was key. I was going to have to move forward without all of the facts and every single data point.

Innovation in 2023
We put together our first conference event! It was such a rewarding event, and a big success. To be able to spend time and space together and see the transformations that happened was so rewarding.
We tried some new launch topics this year. Some were better than others, but my yearning to nail the perfect launch topic is something we will always be in pursuit of.
From a launch perspective we tried a paid launch, added some downsells, and also added connection (sales) calls.
Our applications used to be open all the time, but we saw the opportunity to deepen the relationship before someone applied so we created a wait list.
We also did fewer launches this year, which is unlike what a lot of businesses were doing these days. Our team had to find new ways to get in front of prospects and have deeper, faster conversations with people, and prove the value of the certification.
Our team really came together to improve on our data collection and data proving before we made decisions. We started looking at data way more often, and I applaud our team for making huge advancements in analyzing and gathering data.

Our team has not had much turnover this year, and having continuity in the team means that you are more productive.
We served 74 students to our Director of Operations alumni family this year. The quality and caliber of the students coming in is just awesome to support.
We are starting to see more and more diverse industries joining us. We are seeing very diverse business models, and even though I started the content around the premise of an online business model, the same exact knowledge, information and skill can serve any industry.
Looking Ahead to 2024
More people found us on Google search than ever before, meaning SEO is making a comeback. It kind of fell off when we started to see more of an emphasis on video and social media, but keywords are back. Look at how you can incorporate SEO into your business.
An area we continue to work really hard at is organic marketing. Paid advertising is complicated and expensive, and I am really proud of the way our team has shown up consistently from an organic perspective. In 2024, organic will have a greater return on your bottom line.
I expect the market to remain similar to this past year. I am hopeful because I am still feeling the itch to innovate and bring something new to the market.
