Are you ready for your next interview? On today’s episode, I am sharing tips with you that you can use to set yourself apart!
Preparing for the interview
Preparing for the interview may be just as important as the actual interview. This can be your time to shine but it doesn’t come without preparing. Make sure that you have researched this company and that you are clear on the job description. Know how you are going to provide value for this company before entering the interview and then clearly convey that to the interviewer.
showcase your strategic thinking
If this is a strategy level role, showcase that you have strategic thinking. Instead of just answering the questions, articulate how you can truly help this company have success.
craft your introduction
Have a strong introduction. You want this to tell who you are professionally and personally, and what you bring to the table. This introduction can set the tone for the rest of the interview so be prepared ahead of time.
be mindful of your responses
Make sure that you are clearly answering the questions and providing value but that you are not spending any longer than two minutes when answering a question. Make sure your answers get to the point but also are informative and showcase what you can do.
maintain professionalism
Maintaining professionalism throughout the interview is crucial. From your attire to your answers to your body language, these impressions matter.
prepare thoughtful questions
Prepare questions that you can ask at the end that are thoughtful. You want this to show your interest in the role. Some questions may be answered during the interview so be sure to prepare more than one or two!
share your vision
Share your vision for success in this role by sharing what you will accomplish in this role in the first 30 days of being hired. Employers want someone who can contribute to the company’s success so sharing that upfront is helpful.
Using these tips will help prepare you for your next interview! I want you to be set up for success and prepared ahead of time and these tips will set you apart.
“If you are applying and are a true candidate for a director level or a strategic level role, be prepared with a question. This is going to be your opportunity to share strategic insight.” -Natalie Gingrich
