In today’s episode, I am sharing the different types of assessments. These are particularly important in the hiring process. I’m diving deeper into the significance of the Kolbe A assessment and how knowing this can make a difference as a DOO!

There are three parts of the brain: cognitive (thinking), affective (feeling), and conative (doing). The cognitive part of the mind is about understanding what we can do. The affective part is about our values, personality, and emotions. The conative part is about our innate strengths.
The Different Assessments
- Predictive Index and Wonderlic – These pull from the cognitive part of the brain.
- The DiSC, Myer’s Briggs, Strength Finders, and the Enneagram – These are looking at the affective (the feeling) part of the brain.
- Kolbe A assessment – This is a conative assessment.
Understanding the Conative Part of the Brain
It’s important to understand the conative part of your brain, with an assessment such as the Kolbe A assessment, because it is responsible for taking action and executing tasks. This helps us to understand how an individual is going to work when hired.
Why the Kolbe A is the One I Recommend
The Kolbe A assessment is the only one that is going to measure your effort to your energy. Your results are also focused on your strengths and how you solve problems. It’s a completely unbiased, valid, and reliable assessment!
